After she discovered that her son was lad poisoned the City came out as well as Environmental Health Watch. Angela found EHW to be very helpful to her, as well as the literature that she received from a local parent support group.
Impact
Angela was shocked. She was shocked at how high his blood lead levels were, and she was shocked at how this poisoning had been silently affecting her child. She is also concerned because he has some very difficult behavioral problems, he is often unhappy, and has fits of anger.
Future
As she looks towards the future Angela hopes that other parents will be careful and that everyone, from parents to landlords to community leaders, will be aware of lead hazard before moving children into unsafe housing. She also hopes and prays that her sons anger and unhappiness, as well as his blood lead levels, will be reduced.
