Nate Coffman is executive director of the Ohio CDC Association (OCDCA), a non-profit trade association for community development corporations that work to revitalize rural and urban communities. Prior to joining OCDCA in December 2009, he directed the revitalization efforts of Cleveland's historic Ohio City neighborhood with the Ohio City Near West Development Corporation.

For eight years he served as executive director of the Home Builders Association of Greater Cleveland (HBA). At the HBA, Nate helped bring the organization and the membership to invest and develop in many underserved urban neighborhoods working in partnership with local CDC's. He also worked several years in Columbus for U.S. Senator John Glenn and as an aide at the Ohio Senate. He is a native of southeastern Ohio and a graduate of The Ohio State University. Nate serves on the Board of Directors for the National Alliance of Community Economic Development Associations (NACEDA).

Jim Martin, Chief Financial Officer

Jim Martin serves as the Chief Financial Officer, working closely with OCDCA leadership to develop a comprehensive financial plan for the organization, including retirement plans, budgets, audits and overall financial controls. After graduating from The Ohio State University, Jim started his career as a CPA with Deloitte & Touche and has gained a wide range of non-profit organization experience over his career. He earned his MBA from The Ohio State University.

Suzanne Parks, Director of Asset Development

Suzanne Parks, Director of Asset Development, directs the Assets Ohio and JOLI projects. She joined OCDCA on August 2008 and is responsible for the administration of the Assets Ohio venture. Ms. Parks' additional responsibilities include the provision of training and technical assistance, resource development, as well as research and the development of policy.

Prior to joining the OCDCA team, Ms. Parks was an independent consultant working with community development and other government funded agencies assisting with special projects designed to enhance organizational and program capacity. She is a former employee of two Head Start projects in the central Ohio area. In Head Start, she worked with the Family and Community Partnerships and Program Design and Governance components.

Ms. Parks was conferred a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Ohio Dominican University and a Masters in Leadership Education from the Mid-America Christian University.

Dave Foust, Program Director

David Foust, Program Director, joined the OCDCA in September 2011. His primary responsibilities include overseeing the microbusiness development program and OCDCA annual conference as well as new programming initiatives. Prior to this role, he served as the OCDCA Membership Manager where he assisted in coordinating membership activities including training and technical assistance. A graduate of The Ohio State University, he holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in City and Regional Planning, with concentrations in economic development and international development.

Melissa Miller, Director of Member Capacity

Melissa Miller, Director of Member Capacity, is primarily responsible for helping OCDCA members build capacity within their organizations. She manages the OCDCA membership and coordinates training and technical assistance opportunities for members. She is also in charge of the overall supervision and planning of the OCDCA AmeriCorps*VISTA Program. Melissa joined OCDCA in July of 2012. Prior to her current role, she was the AmeriCorps*VISTA Program Manager and served two years in AmeriCorps. During her service, she a spent a year as the OCDCA VISTA Leader and a year as a VISTA member with UGIVE.ORG. While at UGIVE, she coordinated service learning projects and connected high school students with volunteer opportunities in their area

Melissa has Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a concentration in Public Policy from Kent State University.

Lisa Much, Communications and Development Manager

Lisa Much, Communications and Development Manager, is primarily responsible for fund development and communications for OCDCA. After finishing her year as an AmeriCorps VISTA for Assets Ohio, she served as the Student Services Coordinator for Columbus Literacy Council until re-joining OCDCA in September 2014. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Green Mountain College in Vermont.

Jason Weireter, Finance Consultant

Jason joined OCDCA in July 2016 after graduating from Methodist University with a BS in Business Administration in 2015. During his education, he also sought after a PGA membership with golf related internships at Scioto Country Club, Azalea Sands Golf Club, and Golf Web Design. Jason is an avid golfer and enjoys the outdoors.

Alexis George, AmeriCorps VISTA Leader

Alexis George, AmeriCorps VISTA Leader, helps increase communication among OCDCA VISTA Members.  In addition to increasing communication, she promotes the success and accomplishment of the OCDCA VISTA Projects while assisting VISTA Supervisors for more effective outcomes.  Prior to serving with OCDCA, Alexis was a VISTA at Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star in Irving, Texas. She studied Electrical and Computer Engineering at The Ohio State University and currently studies Sociology and Computer Science at Ohio Dominican University.

Patrick Creedon, AmeriCorps VISTA

Patrick Creedon, as an AmeriCorps VISTA, is involved with projects related to OCDCA’s microbusiness, social enterprise, and fundraising programmatic initiatives. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Women’s and Gender Studies from the University of Tulsa and briefly studied quantitative psychology at the Ohio State University, where he taught statistical computing.
